Project Background and Purpose
Revisiting old projects
Commtech Communications is one of the first projects I worked on, for my college classes. I purchased a camera early on, knowing that creating my own photo content would become an invaluable tool in my chosen profession. This would eventually morph into a “DIY” type of attitude that would follow me my entire life.
The assignment itself was just to create a print advertisement campaign for a fictional company. The professor let us choose whatever fictional company we wanted. At the time I could not afford a cell phone, so I wanted to create a company whose main audience was people like myself. The name I came up with was “Commtech Communications”.
At the time, I lived in an area that some would probably consider a ghetto, a trailer-park in Perris, California. So I gathered my friends, and we took photos to inspire the ideas for my ads.

A Campaign for the Youth
Looking-back now, these designs are pretty amateur-ish. But at the time I thought they were great. It’s good to look back sometimes and see how far you’ve come. And it’s also nice to see some photos of my old friends back in the old neighborhood.
