Being a Creative Director for Option One Solar provided me with many cool opportunities. The business owners encouraged out-of-the-box ideas and outlandish ways to stand apart from the competition. Solar is still a very competitive market in the California desert, and the market is always shrinking.

The team already knew we wanted to make a new video advertisement for the upcoming 2023 year, and it was already December… so it was a time crunch. My colleague mentioned showing a father at home, and I suddenly had a great idea from that premise. I thought we could turn a father having breakfast into a “car chase” type of trailer if we turned it into a dream sequence. That worked to also create a way to show viewers that they have a limited time deal.

I quickly wrote the script and a shot-list. We prepped the equipment, and using a co-workers sports-car we headed to another co-worker’s home. Using all of these elements together we created an amazing car-chase style movie trailer… PERFECT to use in local theaters.

The AD was so successful we broke records for the first 4 months of the year, including over $4 MILLION in sales for April alone.
