My creative process is different from anyone I know of, and it’s something that always gives me an edge in my market. Over the years of my life I have honed my creative technique into a complete and compact process for maxing out my time. Here is a simplified breakdown:
Goals: Unlike many of my peers, my inspiration comes from the project and the people behind it. What is the product history? Who would want it? What is the key message? When is the deadline?
Brainstorms: With the necessary data, I let my mind wander beyond direct thoughts into the abstract. Encouraging creativity creates new concepts for my clients.
Comps: Rough drafts of these concepts create the initial framework of the idea into reality. They are always rough, but this develops rapid exploration and refinement.
Collaboration: Feedback is always important, but it is most important from your team. Clients, colleagues, and vendors are necessary before the release of any campaign.
Publication: The art meets its audience. Public perception of the project is really the ultimate end-goal. These days our art is measured in financial success, so we measure the response, and adjust as needed.
